What is a Partner Carrier?

Getting to know what a partner carrier is and how they can help with your freight shipping needs can save you both time and money in the long run. At Moto Transportation, we understand the importance of being able to provide your customers, no matter where they are located, with timely and efficient deliveries. That is why we offer a range for freight shipping services, including partner carrier services.

Why Use Partner Carrier Services?

Every freight shipping company uses a partner carrier at one time or another, as servicing every part of North America with one fleet is almost impossible. Since remote areas with low populations tend to require a partner, local carriers can be used to better reach these areas than large trucking companies. Alternatively, some trucking companies choose to service just one region well, utilizing a partner, such as Moto Transportation, to service another through an agreement.

Partner Carrier Services

While Moto Transportation is able to provide freight shipping services to British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan from California, we work with a partner carrier that handles shipments to Ontario and Quebec. In return, that partner carrier will provide Moto Transportation with any cross-border shipments headed to Western Canada, as this is an area they do not service directly.

We also share our Dallas, Texas, terminal with a partner. Moto Transportation again handling all freight shipping from Texas to Western Canada and our partner doing the same to Eastern Canada. This makes for seamless freight handling and excellent shipment transparency.

To ensure our service range for Canada and the United States is strong, we also work with large national less-than-truckload (LTL) partner carriers. Our wide-ranging national partners currently include: Vitran Express, Western Canada Express, Maritime Ontario, Apps Transport, Concord and Saia, YRC, ABF, UPS, and more through our Globaltranz network.
