Walmart dangles $95,000 to $110,000 USD to start for truck drivers

In recent months truck drivers have been swapping trucking companies for higher driver pay leaving companies that were paying the standard rates not able to put drivers in trucks and service freight shipments.

For a job that is tough on the body and even tougher on the family, this is welcome news for the traditionally underpaid industry.

At Moto we have had to increase driver pay to a rate not seen before in our industry, just to stay current.

In an effort to keep store shelves full, Walmart has taken the unprecedented step to let the industry know it is serious about retaining drivers. Now it is unclear what a driver has to do to earn that starting wage, but it is a step in the right direction to pay drivers accurately for what the job should pay.
